Alec Baldwin quits Twitter and wants to quit acting

Alec Baldwin is logging off twitter for good. The actor recently deleted his social media account after a series of angry tweets targeting Daily Mail reporter George Stark. In an online article, George accused Alec’s wife Hilaria of tweeting during James Gandolfini’s funeral to which Alec’s response was “My wife DID NOT use her phone, in any capacity, at our friends funeral. Now f— this twitter + good luck to all of you who know the truth.” The 30 Rock actor confirmed in an interview with Vanity Fair that he will “never” tweet again. “I went to Jimmy Gandolfini’s funeral, and when I was there I realized Jimmy Gandolfini didn’t have Twitter. Jimmy Gandolfini was so beloved as a person, and he was so admired as an actor, and he didn’t give a f**k about social media,” Alec said. “I really learned a lesson at the funeral. I said to myself, This is all a waste of time.” Though his 20,000 Twitter followers are surely disappointed, those who appreciate his acting may be in for shocking news as well. The 55-year-old also suggested to Vanity Fair that he wants to be out of the limelight completely and would “love to” quit acting. “That would be the greatest thing in the world. I would love to. If I could find something else to do.” ~Naomi Leanage
