Get Smart (1965-1970)

Even in the 1960s, people laughed at James Bond and the secret agent genre. Mel Brooks sensed an opportunity and created the television series Get Smart. Maxwell Smart (Don Adams) stars as a clumsy secret agent. Phones are hidden everywhere in agent Smart’s home. The funniest phone in the series was the shoe phone. Agent Smart has to remove his shoe to answer secret calls, which makes for comic gold.
