Circle, Triangle and Square

Here is the popular Squid Game invitation card. The circle, triangle and square appear several times throughout the season, first in the printed card and next when magenta-suited guards have symbols on their masks. It is reported that the shapes are the letters of Korean alphabet, written in Hangul. The circle is the letter O, the triangle is part of the letter J, and the square is the M. Together, OJM are the initials of the Squid Game in Korean — Ojingeo Geim. Also, the three geometric shapes are related to the mathematical impossibility of squaring the circle — it is symbolic because the game itself is impossible. The first episode showed kids on the playing field, and as the shot zooms out, the three shapes are revealed once again.
