Robert Pattinson has said that watching American films helped him perfect his accent for his role in Twilight. According to Showbizspy, the British actor, who’s currently in Japan promoting the movie, said: “All of my favorite actors are American and I grew up watching American movies.” Robert found it strange that he was up against other Brits for the role of Edward Cullen. “It’s weird because there were a lot of British people up for this part. The author’s choice was an English guy which was really strange. She wanted all English guys to play Americans. I think there is something about this myth in America of British people being classy.” Pattinson will soon head back to the States to begin filming the sequel New Moon.

I love this picture of him, although he looks a little gaunt. Can’t wait for New Moon! I hope they write it so when Edward’s gone, it’s only for like 10 minutes, because basically I’m watching it for Edward, not Jacob.
