This theatre opened in 1997 as part of the Empire Theatres chain. Called the Empire 17, it expanded in 1999, making it the biggest movie theatre in Atlantic Canada, featuring the only IMAX theatre in the Maritimes. The complex, now owned by Cineplex, has a total of 3, 793 seats. Parking available.
