A group of college friends travel to the small town of Madison County to interview the author of a book chronicling the grisly murders in the area. When they get there, the author is nowhere to be found and the local residents are not much help—they claim the killer never existed and the murders never happened. But the kids soon learn that what they're hearing couldn't be farther from the truth.
